Every year at the end of August, our countryside is populated by men engaged in the collection of almonds, the women in front of the trullo shell them to spread them in the sun; children compete to find the rare cross-shaped almonds that have been considered our lucky charm since ancient times to be given to those who love each other as a sign of good omen.
